BUCKLAND AIMING FOR BOUTS AT NEXT LEVEL

Cardiff’s Gary Buckland believes that he deserves opportunities above domestic level. The 27-year-old recorded his career best win in his last outing, a Split Decision victory over fellow Welshman Gavin Rees and he hopes that another win in their rematch will see him progress to title fights at international level. Such was the all action nature of Buckland’s first meeting with Rees, it’s a certain Fight of the Year candidate, that public and broadcast demand has made it’s happened again but Buckland wants it to be his last on the domestic scene. Buckland first competed in a domestic title fight in 2007, a points decision victory over Martin Watson for the Celtic lightweight title in just his 12th fight. The Welshman has since had 19 contests, nine of which have been title fights or eliminators, and 92 hard fought rounds. Scroll down to watch the full video interview:
