CLEV OPENS UP ON THE NEXT CHAPTER
Cefn Fforest’s Nathan Cleverly (26-1, 12KO) has spoken exclusively to BoxingWales as he stands on the brink of the next chapter of his career. The 27-year-old is going through an important period of transition, having changed trainers, promoters and weight category. In his last outing in August, Cleverly was defending his WBO world light-heavyweight title for the sixth time but was defeated in four rounds by Russian powerhouse Sergey Kovalev and has not fought since. However, on May 17th and under the guidance of Darren Wilson, Cleverly will return to face Guyana’s Sean Corbin (17-4, 12KO) for the vacant WBA Inter-Continental title on Matchroom Sport’s ‘The Second Coming’ show at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena and it will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
