Dragon Fire date rearranged for October 24th

Earlier today, Sanigar Events announced that they have moved the date of their ‘Dragon Fire’ show to Friday 24th October so that it can be televised live on Eurosport (Sky Ch. 412). Welsh fight fans will have to wait three weeks longer for the first show of the season as ‘Dragon Fire’ was originally scheduled for Saturday 4th October. In the headline contest at the Rhydycar Leisure Centre, three time Welsh champion Dai ‘Dutters’ Davies (11-23-2, 2KO) will defend his featherweight title against Ferndale’s Kris ‘Chuck’ Jones (4-14-2). Until July, Davies hadn’t fought in his hometown of Merthyr Tydfil for seven years but he returned to retire Robbie Turley in eight rounds. However, Jones poses a different threat as Davies will be facing a naturally bigger boxer who is dropping down from super-featherweight. Promoter Jamie Sanigar said, “We had the chance to broadcast the show live on Eurosport and we think this is fantastic exposure for our Welsh boxers. They always put everything on the line and they should be showcased. “Our last two shows in Merthyr have been on Eursport and we have had great feedback from the television and fans across Europe, we hope this show will be no different.” The undercard includes the Fight of the Year candidate rematch between Luke Osman and Jimmy White, Barrie Jones, Tony Dixon, Dorian Darch, Jamie Evans, Morgan Jones, Darren Morgan, Danni Griffiths, Chris Ware and Lloyd Davies. The event will be shown live on Eurosport across 109 countries and Sanigar Events expect another great show of support from the Welsh public. Tickets are priced at £30 for unreserved seating, £50 for ringside seating and £65 for VIP table seating. All tickets bought for 4th October will still be valid for 24th October. For tickets call the Sanigar Events Box Office on 0117 949 6699. Doors open at 6:00pm and the first bell will sound at 6.30pm.
