Dragon Fire line-up announced

Yesterday, Sanigar Events revealed official details of the undercard for their ‘Dragon Fire’ show on October 4th at the Rhydycar Leisure Centre in Merthyr Tydfil. In the headliner, Dai ‘Dutters’ Davies (11-23-2, 2KO) will make the second defence of his Welsh featherweight title when he faces Ferndale’s Kris ‘Chuck’ Jones (4-14-2) and it will be supported by a ten fight undercard. Older brother Barrie Jones (19-10, 7KO) will be one of the undercard boxers as he returns from a 29 month ring absence. The former Welsh middleweight champion and British welterweight title challenger hasn’t fought since suffering a come-from-behind stoppage defeat to Lee Churcher. Dowlais’ Jamie Evans will make his professional debut and so will his fellow Merthyr man, Morgan Jones. Both are two time Welsh senior champions in the amateurs and they were last in the ring against each other in March. On that occasion, Evans impressively out-smarted Jones to win via Unanimous Decision and retain his middleweight title. Trelewis’ Luke Osman (4-12-1, 1KO) meets Cardiff’s Jimmy White (0-2) in a rematch of July’s Fight of the Year contender. The middleweights fought in a four round war which Osman won on points to win consecutive contests for the first time in his career, while White was returning from a 12 year break from boxing. Welterweight Tony ‘The Terrier’ Dixon (5-0, 1KO) will fight in his six professional contest and his Mountain Ash Boxing Club stablemate Dorian Darch (8-3, 1KO) will look to build on his career best win in July when he dropped and out-pointed Essex heavyweight Tom Little. Another heavyweight on the show is Darren ‘The Beast of Bonymaen’ Morgan (7-5, 5KO) and fellow Swansea native Chris Ware (4-0, 2KO) will also end his inactivity. Ware, a 32-year-old super-middleweight, took a break in 2012 and spent time training Tobias Webb. Young cruiserweights Danni Griffiths (4-1) and Lloyd Davies (1-0, 1KO) will complete the card in separate contests.
