Connah’s Quay’s Paul ‘The Spartan’ Economides (14-5, 1KO) scored his first career stoppage with a second round knockout over David Kanalas (14-11, 7KO) for the WBF International super-bantamweight title. The North Walian hurt his opponent with a body shot in the second stanza and when Kanalas was on the receiving end of a follow up flurry, the referee was forced to end proceedings. 27-year-old Economides, who has been a two weight British Masters champion at super-bantamweight and featherweight, has now had six scheduled 10 rounders in 19 fights.
