WALES EVEN IN CANADA RETURN
In what’s likely to be the final competitive action Wales’ Commonwealth Games squad will receive before this summer’s event in Glasgow, there was nothing to separate Team Wales and Canada as their second meeting ended with both teams winning three of the six bouts. They met last night at the Banner Hall in Evraz Place, two days after Canada had won seven of the ten bouts in the first meeting but Wales regrouped with two of Friday’s losing boxers picking up wins. Defending Commonwealth Games bantamweight champion Sean McGoldrick won his second contest, while light-welterweight Zack Davies and light-heavyweight Nathan Thorley both recorded their first wins of the tour.
